Lake Nakuru is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the most famous lake in Kenya for its flocks of flamingos. A boat safari experience here allows you to spot Hippo and numerous Bird species such as pink flamingos, white pelicans and the water fowl. The lake is a protected area managed by the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) under the National Government, hence, L. Nakuru National Park.
The lake itself is remarkably picturesque, with a number of spectacular sceneries where visitors can make stop overs and enjoy the views of the lake as they gasp a breath from the fresh-cool breeze. The boat safaris are provided by an experienced Lake Nakuru resident Naturalist and the boats range from 7 person to 8 person capacities. Life jackets are provided. Breakfast is served and sparkling wine is offered on the morning safari experience and the ride lasts 2 hours and 30 min . The afternoon sundowner experience is enjoyed with bitings and a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. The experience Lasts 2 hours and thirty 30 mins.
Price / Fee for Private Lake Nakuru Boat Safari: US$ 100 per person. If you are a group of friends or a family you can book the boat on an exclusive basis for half and full day safaris on the lake. Half Day experince: US$ 650 per boat and Full Day Experience: US$ 900 per boat. The boat ride takes place at a variety of locations depending on the boat company's location. The boats have a carrying capacity of upto 8 persons.
In terms of wildlife the park is home to over 55 species of mammals where the common ones are the lion, leopard, rhino, buffalo, waterbuck, impala, gazelles, Roth’s child giraffe, zebras etc. in the water there are the hippos and the water fowl (bird) and a special type of fish, Tilapia graham. On the rocks and cliffs are the snakes (pythons) amongst other reptiles.
